Celtic Thunder Chapter Ireland:
Founded in 2005 and is affiliated to Waterford Harley-Davidson®. As a Harley-Davidson® owners chapter, Celtic Thunder have traveled as a group in Europe, America, and Canada which has developed bonds and friendships both within Celtic Thunder and with other H.O.G.s alike.
Our year kicks off in February with the AGM held in Waterford City, it’s an opportunity for members to get involved in planning the year ahead and make suggestions as well as hearing from the committee and renew membership. It’s also an opportunity for folks to catch up after as members often stay the night in Waterford.
St Patrick’s Day is our first official Rideout of the year where we meet at Waterford Harley Davidson and head down to the parade as a group. It’s always a fun day out with plenty of hot drinks to keep warm.

Following the AGM we begin work on putting together our calendar for the year this includes Chapter Rideouts run by our Road Captains and meeting with other Chapters both here and abroad taking part in their Chapter events.
Every year, Ireland holds its largest motorbike festival Bikefest www.irelandbikefest.com, run in Killarney, County Kerry. Celtic Thunder has played a major role in the Irish Bike Fest since its commencement in 2007 and has helped it go from strength to strength
Throughout the year we also get involved in Charity events details of which are posted on our News & Rideouts page, we also try to get an overnighter in when we can and we end the year with our Christmas party in Waterford City.
The Group Riding System
We have two systems to ensure nobody gets lost or left behind, the first system used is the Buddy System which is great for smaller groups and the second system is the Second Rider Drop System which is great for bigger groups. The system being used on the day will be explained by the Road Captain during the briefing. They are easy to follow and new riders can go to the back of the group to get the hang of the systems.
Riding our bikes is why we are here so if you would like the Harley lifestyle and would like to get together with fellow Harley enthusiasts we may be the Chapter for you. If you would like to know more contact our director John Power and he will be happy to get fill you in with any questions you may have.
